What is Lookup Translation in Informatica MDM?

The process of converting the source primary/foreign key value to the corresponding key value in the target base object is called Lookup Translation.MDM handles only the lookups for primary keys and hence Lookup has to be manually defined for foreign keys to preserve referential integrity.The translation is done by using XREF table or Unique key in Base Object.

How to enable user-defined lookup-

1)Acquire and Write Lock and go to Schema tool.Browse to the staging table of the Child Base Object.(The user-defined lookups are defined from Child tables)
2)Click the 'Columns' tab and select the foreign key column.The Edit button will be enabled only for the columns that can be used in lookup strategy.Click the edit button.

3)In the dialog box,select the 'Lookup system' and select 'Primary Key Source Object' under 'Base_Object Cross-Reference'.
Click OK and save this.
